1998-2004 University College, London  Gene expression in craniofacial deformity

This research is currently nearing completion and will form the basis of my doctorate of medicine thesis. I am the sole holder of a £10,000 award that was peer reviewed and granted by the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. (see publications)

1999-2000 Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead Use of optical three-dimensional imaging in facial deformity

This project is ongoing. I am currently involved in a project using optical scanning methods to determine if they have any role in treating patients with facial asymetry and in monitoring growth and development of the face and the assessment of outcomes of surgical treatment of facial deformity

2000 Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead  Application of optical scanning for the measurement of enophthalmos

Optical scanning methods potentially have use for the very accurate measuring of the position of the eye. Currently the monitoring of ocular position is inaccurate. An accurate method would be useful for the management of facial trauma, congenital deformity and monitoring thyroid eye disease
