Dr Tara Murphy is a Consultant Paediatric Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist. She has worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital since 2003. Dr Murphy currently co-leads the Tic Disorder Service and Paediatric Neuropsychology Service.
Dr Murphy has expertise in providing and supervising neuropsychological assessment of children with a range of acquired brain injury and neurodevelopmental conditions, in particular- tic disorders.
Dr Murphy has also been involved in leading research on intervention, quality of life, and neuropsychological assessment for children with neurological disorders, and neurodevelopmental conditions. She has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles, and written several chapters and 3 books on neuropsychological and neurodevelopmental conditions. She is involved nationally and internationally in teaching and collaborative research.
Dr Murphy works closely with charitable organisations such as Tourette Action and is an active member of the European Society for the study of Tourette syndrome.
