Ms Edel de Buitleir

Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist

Overview

Edel has been a specialist paediatric physiotherapist for 17 years and worked in various specialities across plastic surgery including hand therapy, burns rehabilitation and scar management in children. Her work at GOSH mainly focuses on rehabilitation following complex plastic reconstructive surgery and children's facial palsy including the highly specialist area of facial re-animation surgery. She has worked both as a community paediatric physiotherapist and in tertiary level hospitals providing acute care including Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street, St Andrew's Centre for Burns and Plastics, Chelsea and Westminster Burns Unit, Royal London Hospital and the Wellington Hospital. Edel's broad experience means she has an excellent understanding of the journey many children go through both before and after attending GOSH. Edel aims to treat every child holistically and works closely with her plastic surgeon colleagues to optimise the results of surgery.
