Dr Frontzek's research interests primarily lie in the realm of basic science related to neurodegenerative diseases, with a particular focus on understanding the neuroimmune components of neurodegeneration. Through molecular and biochemical investigations conducted on brain tissue from individuals afflicted with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, his aim is to uncover critical insights into the underlying pathological mechanisms. His ultimate goal is to utilise this knowledge to devise groundbreaking therapeutic approaches that can effectively combat these devastating disorders and potentially offer new avenues for treating neurodegenerative conditions.
