Prof Andrew Taylor attends Paediatric Development Forum in China

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH) in London is a globally renowned children’s hospital, treating the rarest and most complex conditions. GOSH facilitates a collaborative approach to international partnerships and is dedicated to sharing best practice in a transparent and empowering way.

Prof Andrew Taylor, Clinical Director of Operations at GOSH attended the 4th Futang Paediatric Development Forum in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China, an annual conference discussing the development of children’s healthcare, which was held by Futang Research Centre of Paediatric Development in December. Near 2,000 people from 34 children’s hospitals in China attended this forum.

At the forum, Prof Taylor did a presentation under the theme of “Child First and Always”. He introduced GOSH’s history and priority specialities including Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Haematology etc. Moreover, he presented on GOSH’s new 5-year strategy and showed the recent developments and achievements in paediatric research, education, technology and clinical work. Furthermore, he briefly explained some key milestones at GOSH in 2019 e.g. opening of Zayed Research Centre, DRIVE project, and Learning Academy. 

The delegation of Futang Research Centre of Paediatric Development visited GOSH and signed MOU in August 2019. During his time at the forum, Prof Taylor also highlighted GOSH’s international partnership with Futang research centre in China and commitment to deepening the wider international collaboration to help the sick children worldwide.

GOSH looks forward to building up the wider collaboration with Futang Research Centre and its member hospitals in the aspects of paediatric education, research and clinical care.
