Peking Union Medical College Hospital Visits GOSH, Signing MOU to Launch New Collaborations
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) recently hosted a delegation from Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PKUCMH) to explore potential collaborations in healthcare innovation and research.
Led by Crispin, GOSH’s Head of Health, Place, and Space, the PKUCMH team toured GOSH’s Zayed Centre for Research, getting an in-depth look at the hospital's pioneering work in paediatric medicine.
Following the tour, a formal meeting was held at GOSH, bringing together senior leaders from both institutions. The PKUCMH delegation included Professor Zhang- President of PKUCMH, Mr Li- President of the China Rare Disease Commission, and 11 other key delegates, along with our partner Circle Harmony’s representative- Vice President Anna. Representing GOSH were Chief Operating Officer Ms Dena Marshall, I&PC Director Mr Chris Rockenbach, GLA Director Lynn Shields, Innovation Director Dr Andrew Taylor and GOSH Haematology consultant Dr Phil Ancliff.
During the meeting, the PKUCMH team shared insights into their hospital’s legacy, research achievements, and clinical breakthroughs. In response, GOSH provided an overview of its four core pillars and discussed ongoing advancements in AI, Haematology/Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, CAR-T therapy, and genetic services.
The session concluded with Ms Marshall and Professor Zhang signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that formalise their intent to collaborate on innovative healthcare initiatives. Both sides expressed enthusiasm about future joint projects, and PKUCMH voiced eagerness to begin work with GOSH soon.
This new partnership represents a promising step toward advancing paediatric healthcare and research on a global scale, with both institutions committed to leveraging their strengths for mutual benefit.
