Dr Ilaria Testi
Overview
Dr Ilaria Testi trained in Ophthalmology at the University of Padova, Italy. She undertook international training in Uveitis and Ocular Inflammatory Diseases at Advanced Eye Centre, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. She completed two fellowships in Uveitis and Ocular Inflammation at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. She trained in Paediatric Uveitis at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London.
Dr Ilaria Testi currently works as NHS Consultant Ophthalmologist within the Uveitis Service at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and the Paediatric Uveitis Service at Great Ormond St Hospital, managing uveitis and inflammatory eye diseases in adults and children. Ilaria is also the Clinical Lead of the Uveitis Virtual Service at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Dr Ilaria Testi has delivered more than 100 invited lectures and participated in several instruction courses at various national and international meetings. She has a strong interest in clinical and medical research, and has been prolific to share her scientific work through numerous manuscripts published in the literature. She has authored more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and book chapters. Her primary area of research interest includes ocular inflammatory diseases (uveitis, scleritis), inflammatory eye diseases in adults and children, ocular infections, including ocular tuberculosis, herpes disease and ocular toxoplasmosis, multimodal imaging in uveitis, and treatment with immunosuppressive and biological agents. Dr Ilaria Testi serves on the Editorial Board and is Associate Editor for several journals, including ‘Journal of Ocular Infections and Inflammation’ and ‘Inflammatory Eye Diseases for Frontiers in Ophthalmology’.
