Education & Training FAQs

GOSH is an international centre of excellence in paediatric care. We are dedicated to helping children from around the world to fulfil their potential and are globally recognised as one of the few world-class hospitals for children with multiple, rare or complex conditions.

With over 60 different clinical specialties and sub-specialties, GOSH has the UK’s widest range of specialist health services for children, on one site. The hospital has over 300 world-class consultants working within experienced multidisciplinary teams to provide the best care possible for children experiencing a complex range of conditions.

Together with the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, we form Europe's largest academic centre for research and education in children's health and disease. We train more paediatric specialist doctors than any other centre in Europe and have Europe’s largest nurse education programme.

We are committed to sharing our expertise to benefit children’s healthcare worldwide.

We have significant experience delivering education and training schemes in hospitals across the world. Read our case studies to find out more.

All our education and training programmes are built according to your needs. Costs will vary depending on a wide variety of factors including duration, numbers and training site.

Please get in touch with us on privateinfo@gosh.nhs.uk with your requirements and we will be able to provide a cost estimate.

The training location will depend on the programme and participants but this could be at GOSH or at the partner’s location. We are also able to offer distance learning activities and reading, remote conferencing, tutorial and expert support and a range of formative and summative assessment methods.

A training curriculum will be devised by the GOSH team following a needs analysis. A report with recommendations will be provided with a proposed bespoke education programme.

Training will be delivered by GOSH experts (including academics, Nurse Consultants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Clinical Educators, Nurse Managers and other Allied Health Professionals) with training encompassing classroom and practical training sessions.

We are able to design bespoke training and education programmes to match your requirements.

When developing an education programme for other organisations, we propose that an education and training collaboration is based on an assessment of current and future service needs. Where necessary we can undertake an expert ‘training needs analysis’, which becomes integral to developing a programme that exactly meets your needs.
