Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) are delighted to announce that Mr Trevor Clarke, Director of the International and Private Patients Service, has been honoured with an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) as part of this year's Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

The award of OBE is awarded by the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to persons who have a major local role in any activity, including people whose work has made them known nationally in their chosen area.

Mr Clarke was nominated for his longstanding contribution to GOSH, the wider National Health Service, his charitable work and his work towards UK export. During his time at GOSH, Mr Clarke has been committed to influencing the extensive redevelopment programme by ensuring facilities are fit for future clinical delivery and that the wider hospital environment is suitable for patients and their families. He was instrumental in the transfer of external healthcare services to GOSH as well as the development the epilepsy surgery programme, which remains the largest programme in the UK for children with epilepsy.

Mr Clarke has been responsible for the development and success of the International and Private Patients Service at GOSH, as well as the growth and recognition of the GOSH brand worldwide. His recent work has led to education and training partnerships with overseas hospitals and healthcare institutions, helping children suffering from rare and complex conditions around the world to access world-class healthcare.
